Sizing Recommendations

If you like the size of your current lace, then simply measure it and order that same size.  All Tyes are 100% flat cotton which does tend to stay tied better.  Initially they might be a little short, but a good pull and they will stretch and then continue to stretch over time.

We do carry the following sizes 14"(35.56 CM), 18"(45.72 CM), 24"(60.96 CM), 36"(91.44 CM), 45"(114.30 CM), 54" (137.16 CM), 63"(160.02 CM) and 72"(182.88 CM).   All sizes come standard width (3/8 inch or .95 CM).  While a narrower Tye (shoelace) works well to get through the eyelets of kids' shoes,  we have found the wider ones work well for little hands learning to tie.  So if you are ok with the laces being a little tough to initially get through the eyelet, then we recommend the wider laces for smaller hands learning to tie.

If you want narrow, please email us as the narrows are all hand done from a spool of shoelace and do take a few extra days.  There is a 1.00 surcharge for the narrow.

Crib shoes:

14" (35.56 CM) for 2 eyelet crib shoes makes a nice bow. 18" (45.72 CM) for a 3 eyelet crib show is a small bow and 24"(60.96 CM) for a 3 eyelet crib shoe is a larger bow and easier to tie. By crib show we mean newborn to 3 or 6 mos old. They shoes will say "crib shoe" right on it.

Toddler Shoes:

If the child is learning to tie on his own, we recommend 36" to give him the extra lace to tie. 36" (91.44 CM) for a 5 eyelet shoe works well for adults tying kids shoes or beginners trying to tie their own shoes.  We can do a narrow 40" (101.60 CM) by special order.  Please email for details.

Other shoes:

5 eyelet youth shoe we recommend 36" (91.44 CM) for narrower feet (or shoes that are tied tight width wise) or 45" (114.3 CM) for wider feet or shoes that are tied very loosely width wise.

6 eyelet adult shoes do well with 45" (114.3 CM) or 54"(137.16 CM)

Hiking boots that have 6 hooks or eyelets (or a combination of hooks and eyelets) do well with 54" (137.16 CM) laces, if you are using 7 hooks or eyelets or more we recommend 63" (160.02 CM) or 72" (182.88 CM)

REMEMBER…THESE ARE GUIDELINES…IF YOU ARE REPLACING LACES, IT IS BEST TO MEASURE YOUR CURRENT LACE AND ADD OR SUBTRACT FROM THAT.

We are not responsible for laces that do not fit correctly based on the above guidelines.
